Our small team and down-to-earth approach mean our patients enjoy a high standard of personal service. You’ll find our practice is small, homely, relaxed and friendly.

We are keen on preventative dentistry, and are open and honest about what treatment you need. We offer a comprehensive range of services, but will only suggest treatment that is relevant to your needs. We promise you won’t experience any hard sell or pushy sales techniques here.

Dr Mita Patel has been the principal dentist at Shirley Dental Practice since 1999. The advantage is that you will always see the same person, who will personally care for you and your oral health. She qualified in 1985 at the Royal Dental Hospital, and has been in general practice ever since, working in Basildon, Leicester, Wallington, Carshalton before finally settling down in Croydon. She is a busy, hard-working mother of two children and an independent character who regularly attends courses and lectures to keep her skills up-to-date.

Rose and Erica are our experienced dental nurses, registered with the General Dental Council. They have both been with us for years (Rose since 1998, Erica since 2000) and undertake Continuous Personal Development to update their knowledge. They are well versed in the full operational practices of this surgery, and will probably be first to greet you when you arrive.

Our overheads are kept low by the nurses and the dentist performing the work of the practice manager and hygienist, and passing the savings onto you.

In the unlikely event of any complaint or concern about the services we provide, please let us know. We operate our own Practice Complaints Procedure in accordance with the National Criteria, and aim to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.

Dr Fadi Barrak is registered as a specialist in Oral Surgery and is a Fellow of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, England. He graduated from Bristol University in Dentistry followed by Medicine from Imperial College.  His main interests are in implant dentistry, oral surgery and treatment of head and neck pain associated with occlusion.  Dr Barrak has combined experience in oral and maxillofacial surgery in both hospital and primary care settings since 1994. He is also a mentor for the Association of Dental Implantology, International Team for Implantology and Salford University.
