Composite Bonding is a popular minimally invasive cosmetic treatment, offered in Bromley and Croydon at Shirley Dental Practice. Also known as Cosmetic Bonding, it can be used to improve your smile as an alternative to other cosmetic treatment options such as orthodontics, crowns and veneers.
A tooth coloured resin material is matched and then bonded directly to your tooth and hardened using specific light, meaning that the treatment is usually completed in one session.
This advanced teeth bonding technique can be used to repair chipped and broken teeth to change the shape of a person’s tooth or as part of a smile makeover. The technique has increased in popularity recently as little or no drilling of the tooth is required, whilst still producing a fantastic appearance.
Composite Bonding can be used to;
- Repair chipped or damaged teeth
- Close gaps between teeth
- Change tooth shapes as part of a smile makeover
- Repair cracked or fractured teeth
- Repair decayed teeth
- Build up worn teeth
- Protect exposed tooth roots
Although composite bonding will not last as long as veneers, they are cost-effective and can be repaired or re-polished as many times as required. If looked after with regular dental examinations, composite bonding can last 5-8 years.
